The Need for Support

IEA is committed to sponsoring initiatives, providing services and effecting policies that encourage the talent development and social growth of highly-able young people.

IEA does not seek government funding for our initiatives, and any fees associated with our programs and services cover only a small fraction of the total costs.

To accomplish our mission, IEA relies on the generous support of individuals, corporate sponsors and foundations who recognize the need to raise educational standards and provide quality educational opportunities for this often under-challenged population.

You Can Make a Difference

Your gift to IEA is a targeted, powerful investment in the future of our young people, our community and our nation. With your support, IEA can continue to provide our nation's gifted young people with the educational opportunities and developmental support essential to helping them realize their potential.

To support our work with gifted young people, the Institute for Educational Advancement (IEA) relies on our Volunteer Corps. This invaluable group consists of dedicated individuals who graciously make time in their incredibly busy schedules to impact the lives of highly able students.

The roles and responsibilities of our volunteers vary widely depending on their skills and expertise and on our needs. Listed below are just a couple of possible opportunities to join IEA's Volunteer Corps.

Mentors - For three to six weeks during the summer, professionals respected in their fields donate their time and share their expertise with gifted students participating in the Apprenticeship Program. Mentors provide Apprentices with an opportunity to explore potential career options by developing hands-on projects that are completed in a "real world" environment. Guest Lecturers - Throughout the year, professionals from various fields donate their time to host inspirational lectures for gifted students, parents, teachers and administrators participating in the Pipeline to Success program. Click here to see examples of past courses and seminars.
